Missing you all....

Sisters~

Merry belated Christmas! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. This Sunday will be the RS Presidency message and as I have been pondering on what to teach I have become overwhelmed with love for you dear sisters. I can't wait to get to know each of you and to have the opportunity to serve you and your families. For those that will be here this Sunday, I look forward to our discussion in RS. For those that will be traveling, please travel safely. I love you all. If you need anything please feel free to contact me.

With love,
Amanda Walker
(RS President)

Mothers Who Know

This Sunday, September 27th 09, the Relief Society Presidency has decided to discuss Sister Julie B Beck's talk 'Mothers Who Know'. In order to enhance our discussion and add depth to our understanding we ask that you come prepared to Relief Society having read the talk and answered the following questions:

How can the duties of homemaking be "nuturing"?

How do such duties lead to a "climate for spiritual and temporal growth in [your] homes"?

What leadership attributes do you want/need to develop for your home and the example of your children? How do you plan on developing them?

What are some things that your family needs "less" of in your home? Why do you think you need less of it and how do you think it will change your home?

Sister Beck mentions "the value women place on motherhood in this life and the attributes of motherhood they attain here will rise with them in the Resurrection." What attributes are you developing as a result of the value you place on motherhood?

Dear Sisters,
Can I just tell you how excited I am for this Sunday's lesson and activity. I hope that you have the chance to read through the attached talk and come with your own ideas.
As part of the lesson we will be doing an activity. Because the activity requires a little time for thinking and writing and moving (and we all know my lessons go a little long anyway) I'd like to do some of the footwork beforehand.

Sister Beck says
"The third painting that hangs in my office depicts a pioneer midwife. It reminds me that one sister, with one skill, can be a blessing to many."

Please take a moment to write down one skill you have and one skill you want to acquire in the following six areas and come prepared to use your answers:
Education-
Employment-
Health-
Home Storage-
Resource Management-
Social and Emotional Strength-

Thanks for your amazing spirits!

Upcoming Events

We've added a calendar to the side panel of the blog. It will show all of the upcoming events along with dates, times and a description. We'll keep it updated as well as we can, but that means you have to let us know what's going on. If you have a small group activity that you want to broadcast like a temple trip or a play-date, this is the way to let the ward know. We're excited to get this up and running!!

Up and Running . . . Again!!

We want to get this board up and running again. We found out that we can't do comments like we wanted to, but that doesn't mean that we can't make this filled with the latest and greatest. Anyone who's doing anything please let us know so we can get an announcement posted. We'll also have some commentary on past and future lessons. We might post a poll or two throughout the semester, and anything else that we can. We hope that this will help everyone be "in the know" and be able to get involved!
